Again, Tinubu, 3 APC Governors Shun Akeredolu's Ondo Rally
A National leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Bola Tinubu was noticeably absent at the party’s governorship campaign rally in Akure, the Ondo State capital on Saturday.

Also absent at the rally were three APC governors in the South-West.

They are governors of Lagos, Oyo and Osun States – Mr. Akinwumi Ambode, Senator Abiola Ajimobi and Mr. Rauf Aregbosola respectively.

Mr Tinubu had accused the APC National Chairman, John Odigie-Oyegun, of manipulating the process that saw Mr. Akeredolu emerge candidate.
Saturday’s rally, the second major one boycotted by Mr. Tinubu and his loyalists was, however, attended by President Muhammadu Buhari at the Democracy Park, Akure.

However, President Muhammadu Buhari and a large entourage of top party members were present at the rally.

Addressing people of the state in Akure, the Chairman of APC Governors’ Forum, Rochas Okorocha, assured the party’s candidate, Rotimi Akeredolu that the party was behind his candidature.

According to Okorocha, “Ondo State must join the progressives states in Nigeria, therefore we must vote for him and he will win the election. Akeredolu rejected federal appointments because he loves you people. He wants to serve you, so vote for him.”

2019: Satguru Maharaj Ji Reveals Shocking Prophecies About Buhari, APC

2019: Satguru Maharaj Ji Reveals Shocking Prophecies About Buhari, APC

 Satguru Maharaj Ji,
The spiritual leader of One Love Family, Satguru Maharaj Ji, has predicted that the All Progressives Congress (APC) will rule the country beyond 2019, the NAN reports. Maharaj Ji unveiled this prediction in Ibadan on November 18, Friday, at a press conference to mark the 36th anniversary of the sect.

The group’s leader said what the ruling party needed to do was to assure that those who defected from the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the party were watched to ensure that they do not tarnish the good intention of President Muhammadu Buhari.

The cleric also stated that defection of some PDP members to APC was to escape prosecution for offences of which they had been accused.

According Maharaj, Nigeria was in need of leaders like Buhari in order to create a new country to be proud of. He said: “If this is complied with, APC will stand by the name of Maharaj ji.

“I will make sure I support the party so that Nigeria would be free to enjoy the dividends of democracy. “Those that steal Nigeria’s money cannot escape; they would be fished out and forced to return every kobo they have stolen.

“I recommend to the federal government to give 1% of any loot recovered to any Nigerian who is able to offer fruitful information on such hidden money. “This would assist in the speedy recovery of stolen money and create a new image for Nigeria to the outside world. “Presently, the whole world looks at Nigeria as a country that encourages corruption.”

The spiritual leader also reacted to Donald Trump’s victory as American president-elect, saying that the new administration would bring greater benefits to Africa and the global community.

Maharaj believes that Trump is a wise man, judging from his plans to tackle illegal migration and terrorism. The cleric, who calls himself the ‘Living Perfect Master’, disclosed how the Super Eagles will bring the cup home at the 2014 world cup in Brazil if they could only come and test his mighty powers.

However, before the 2015 presidential election, he claimed that there was “no vacancy for Buhari at Aso Rock” for the APC candidate.

APC Crises Fester As Spokesman Drags Party To Court

APC Crises Festers As Spokesman Drags Party To Court
The numerous crises bedeviling the ruling All Progressives Congress APC seems to have no taste of end as the embattled deputy national publicity secretary of , Comrade Timi Frank, has filed a suit challenging the party over his suspension and alleged moves to expel him.

Frank, told journalists yesterday in Abuja, that he remained the acting spokesperson of the APC.

Frank said he approached the court to seek redress after the refusal of the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) to react to his letters, citing relevant sections of the party’s constitution on why he has right to act as the spokesperson of the party.

He said: “I have tried to resolve this crisis internally. I’ve said before I was going to seek legal redress. That step has been taken. I did everything possible to resolve the crisis. But there was no response from Chief John Odigie-Oyegun. But I’ve approached the court to seek legal redress.

“If I can write two letters and there was no response, I have no other option than to take my case to the judiciary and I believe by the grace of God, I’ll be vindicated. This is the only step I can take to fight for my fundamental human right.

“Now that this matter is before the court, I still remain the acting publicity secretary of the party. If there’s anybody to be suspended from APC, it should be Oyegun not me,” he added.

Frank, in his prayers, is seeking “an order to restrain the respondents (Oyegun and the APC) by themselves, committees, officers, agents, servants, privies or howsoever called from suspending and/or otherwise taking any other disciplinary action against him as a member of the APC pending the hearing and determination of the substantive originating summons.”

Tinubu, Akeredolu And Political Harakiri, By Goke Butika
If there is one human being I admire his politics in Nigeria, he is Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the erstwhile governor of Lagos state, because he is courageous and knowledgeable. His potentials came to the national reckoning when he chose to wrestle Lagos state where he was calling shots from rampaging former President Olusegun Obasanjo, who was so power drunk while he was the Commander in Chief that he nearly crushed all his political enemies in Machiavellian style.

I could still recall that the Northern governors were making jest of him in his first tenure that Obasanjo became the President without the votes of his people, so they boasted that they made him. Obasanjo might have felt injured and his heart craved for vengeance. So, he reportedly met with the then SouthWest governors-Bisi Akande, Osun, Lam Adesina, Oyo, Segun Osoba Ogun, and Adefarati of Ondo states plus Tinubu; allegedly assuring them that he was going to work for their second term, and so he sought their help or his reelection too.

Yes, they were all living in denial as touching what transpired at the meeting, but it was obvious that they returned to their states to canvass reelection of "Ebora Owu" with a predetermined narrative that he was using a Yoruba slot at the presidency. I learnt that it was only Tinubu who rejected the bait from Obasanjo. While the election was on, Obasanjo  was eating pounded yam with Osoba, and reportedly playing draft aftermath, and by the time the election was over, all SouthWest governors including Osoba, except Tinubu had become former governors. And that made Tinubu to be the last man standing.

Obasanjo would not take it half empty,  while Tinubu would not settle for half full. So the duo decided to slug it out, putting their legs in the same pair of trousers. Obasanjo latched on the local government creation in Lagos state to punish Tinubu with seizure of the federal allocations, but Tinubu knew the battle was different; he tasked his comrades to raise internally generated revenue, and before we say Aremu, Lagos economy had assumed phenomenal rise. But the battle raged on.

From one state in 2007, Tinubu deployed his comrades to other states where they hail from to go for battle of expansion, he backed his political "Generals" with money and media hype. Already, the people of the region were fed up with motion without movement of the then ruling party, PDP. Besides, they could not experience the effect of Obasanjo presidency. So, it was a welcome development that they returned to regional championship. Meanwhile, the renegades of Afenifere forces were out to climb Tinubu's wings, for he was seen as being to forward. They could not tolerate the fact that he would ascend the leadership of the Yoruba leadership, when the order of rotation was in place. So, they chose to fight along with Obasanjo with a view to decimating Tinubu, but because Tinubu was larger than life in the media, he was able to finish them 'clinically'. As dialectics of development would have it, Tinubu assumed the leadership, but not without a fight.

As Aregbesola was battling Oyinlola of the PDP in Osun, Fayemi was slugging it with Oni in Ekiti, Ajimobi was fighting Akala in Oyo, and Oshiomole was in a battle of wit in Edo with Osunbor, Mimiko was engaging in a political fisticuffs with Agagu in Ondo, and I learnt authoritatively that Tinubu was the generalissimo of the war in the situation room. He deployed funds, media and legal luminaries to prosecute the war in courts. As nature would have it, Ondo, Edo, Ekiti and Osun states were won back through judiciary, and Tinubu turned to the lord of the west in the country. He basked in his euphoria with the five-star performance of Tunde Fashola, in Lagos state now Minister of Power, Works and Housing.

So, while Tinubu entered alliance with Buhari on the creation of All Progressives Congress, it was done from position of strength, and his contribution to the defeat of Goodluck Jonathan was massive. So, it was expected that he would be at the nucleus of decision making in Buhari presidency. Unfortunately, the power mongers could not worship at his feet, they chose to grab the loose ends at the National Assembly; while their collaborators formed a cabal at the presidency, and the party leadership in Oyegun becomes a pawn in the chessboard. Kogi governorship election victory was mismanaged after the death of Abubakar Audu, because the anti-Tinubu forces wanted Tinubu's man, Faleke to be bundled out, now Ondo party's primary became hard sell, because Tinubu must be pulled down from Olympian height.

Tinubu saw the battle line against him, he thought aloud with his letter, venting his anger on helpless Oyegun whose discretion has been seized by funds to run the party, and the generalissimo's anger is still roaring in Ondo now. In the battle of ego, the third force has emerged in Olusola Oke. Tinubu's followers and sympathizers wanted the APC destroyed in the state, because the "enemies" of the big boss have crossed the red line. Rotimi Akeredolu, one of the legal generals who traversed all manners of courts to return the hijacked states from Tinubu's camp then, is now a pariah, because it is being perceived that the estranged comrades of the big boss are his financiers. Now, Oke is the new guy on the block.

One of the Tinubu's loyalists who participated in the loyalty walk in Lagos is the Director General of Oke's campaign, and Senator Mojisoluwa Akinfewa, the yesterday pariah of Alliance for Democracy and other Afenifere renegades are back to the rejected camp. Even, the "boy scout" of Ekiti, Ayodele Fayose is praising the big boss to the high heaven. It is now convenient to be AD in Ondo, APC in Lagos and Osun. That is politics of expedience.  The questions are peradventure, Oke wins, won't he be a bad version of Mimiko who was funded by Tinubu in his struggle to become the governor, only to turn around to betray him, and even defected to the enemy's camp? What has Akeredolu done that could not be pardoned, given his past good towards Tinubu and his comrades? Has Oke's nomadic politics which has crisscrossed other parties become a model now? Why are some Tinubu's men are working to soil the contribution of their principal to this present set up? Why are some people working hard to deny this great man his heroic garment of Honour? The answers are in the wind.

Let it be known that I love Tinubu, and I will  continue to admire him, but I think he should rework his Maths and take a stand against some power hungry fellows who are dropping his name while committing political harakiri.  This is strictly my opinion.

2019: The Tinubus, S'West PDP Groups In London Secret Meeting, Atiku Joins The Realignment Forces Too
New Telegraph - The crisis within the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) may have prompted some of the party’s chieftains in the South-West to commence a realignment with their kinsmen in the opposition parties, especially the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), ahead of the 2019 elections.

New Telegraph learnt from multiple sources that the alignment moves were at different stages with diverse groups, particularly those who are not pleased with the APC-led Federal Government.

Although a cold war had ensued among the various blocs in the APC immediately after the victory of the party at the 2015 general elections, the relative peace finally got ruptured after the party’s primaries for the November 26 governorship election in Ondo State.

The party’s National Leader, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu’s scathing attack on the National Chairman, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, whom he accused of taking side with the eventual candidate of the party, Mr. Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, against his anointed, Mr. Segun Abraham, brought to fore, the party’s wide gulf.

On the other hand, the developments in the Ondo State chapter of the PDP, where Eyitayo Jegede (SAN), the candidate of Governor Olusegun Mimiko, is currently battling for the ticket with businessman, Jimoh Ibrahim of the Senator Ali Modu Sherrif ’s faction has alerted some party leaders in the zone of a possible plan of political annihilation from some Abuja-based political Turks. Relating the sequence of event to New Telegraph, a source who craved for anonymity said:

“The game has changed and the Northern bloc in the APC appears to have drawn the line against the South-West bloc, hence the need for a fresh move for realignment ahead of the 2019 polls. “It’s nothing new.

The South-West leaders and some governors in the zone from the party are the ones at the forefront of the budding coalition. Don’t forget that South- West is always progressive in nature and this new alignment is aimed at two sets of people; the former allies of Tinubu like the Afenifere bloc and some willing members of the opposition parties, who are ready to key into the process.

“Several accords have been reached and by the time the new path is unveiled, many will be shocked. Two governors in the South-West are involved. In fact, one of them met with the Afenifere recently.”

Choosing to keep mute on whether the alignment would lead to the formation of new party, the source said: “When we get to the bridge, we will cross it, but I don’t think Tinubu’s meeting with Pa Ayo Adebanjo and other Afenifere leaders was on how to form a new party, but on the need to collapse all structures into one for the South-West to speak with one voice.

“We were used and dumped by the Northern bloc of the APC loyal to Mr. President, but we have decided to take the bull by the horn and damn the attendant consequences.

Interestingly, we have the deep sympathy of the people and that is a big factor in the game of politics.” Several meetings have been held between members of the various political divides in the zone.

Though their outcomes were not made public, they point towards the realignment move. Among such meetings were those between Osun State governor, Rauf Aregbesola and his Ekiti State counterpart, Ayodele Fayose.

The former is a loyalist of Tinubu, while the latter is a known critic of President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration. Some Afenifere leaders led by Adebanjo have also met with Tinubu.

New Telegraph also learnt of another meeting between some chieftains of the PDP and the Tinubu bloc for a possible alliance. A chieftain of the party in South-West, who confirmed the meeting, however, refused to give details.

The meeting is said to have held in London. A PDP source disclosed that some APC members in South-West, who feel marginalised in the party, want to pull out.

“The truth of the matter is that certain sections of PDP want to pull out and merge with some aggrieved members of APC. A meeting was held in London apart from several meetings here in Nigeria,” he said.

He added that the picture of former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar, Governors Aregbesola and Fayose at the airport, which appeared in most national papers last week, was not by accident.

The source recalled that Fayose and Aregbesola have been exchanging visits for some time, adding “but let’s see what this turns out to.” It was further gathered that the Ahmed Makarfiled faction of the PDP had been ready for the alliance months back, but for some leaders of the party who would not want the name of the party to be changed.

“They are against the formation of an entirely new party. They are also saying that leaving the PDP now is not the best option,” the source stated. He said the decision arose following the consistent frustration in resolving the PDP leadership crisis, which started last May. “We know all along that there is external influence in what is happening in our party.

Sheriff is work-ing for the APC to destroy PDP. They are the ones sponsoring him. That is why some people want the formation of a new party. But there are others, who are not in support. That is where we are now,” he added.

While the various camps have maintained sealed lips on the matter, an insider source told our correspondent that “Tinubu’s bloc is presently receiving overtures from some gladiators in the South-East comprising PDP and the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) chieftains.

This is aside some politicians, who are believed to be out-of-touch in matters concerning the party.” Speaking on the development, the Lagos State chairman of the APC, Otunba Henry Ajomale, told New Telegraph that there was nothing wrong in Tinubu’s bloc aligning with other forces for the progress of the South- West. His words:

“There is no reason why we cannot have realignment of forces to become one and be like we used to be during the Action Group (AG) and the Unity Party of Nigeria (UPN) days.

“I don’t see anything bad in Tinubu seeing Papa Adebanjo, the late Olaniwun Ajayi and other Afenifere leaders and deciding at this time that enough is enough and that they must unite and come together like they were during the Unity Party of Nigeria and Alliance for Democracy (AD) days.”

Adebanjo, who confirmed the moves, also told New Telegraph that there is nothing wrong in Afenifere aligning with the Tinubu’s bloc ahead of the 2019 polls.

“Why not?” he retorted, adding, however, that, “It is not a question of working together; it is about those of them who walked away from those who put them in office for reasons best known to them.

They should think whether they have got the right thing where they went to or not. If they have hit the wall there, the common sense is for them to go back to where they left and we will welcome them. “In Yorubaland, no elderly man will send his bad son to the lion to be killed.

Tinubu has proved to be a disobedient boy; very stubborn. He has seen it now; then we say, he has behaved badly, but we won’t say because he has behaved badly, we will push him to the lion to be destroyed.”

But, former Minister of Transport and member of the Board of Trustees (BoT) of the PDP, Chief Ebenezer Babatope, played down the alignment plot

. “Let those behind the third force come out and announce a party. Political party is not easy to form.I am talking as an organisation man. Even if you have all the rich men of this world, it is not easy to run a political party.

So, we want to see how they want to do it to make themselves an effective third force. But as far as I am concerned, it is too late for me to start jumping ship,” he said.

Ambassadorial Designates: Under Pressure Buhari Succumbs, Withdraws Nominees
After facing frustration from the Senate, President Muhammadu Buhari has reportedly caved in to pressure, by agreeing to withdraw the list of 46 non-career ambassadorial nominees recently submitted to the Upper Chamber for screening and confirmation. Most of the 23 governors elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have kicked against the nomination.

They have also agreed to formally write the president stating their reservations on the nomination. An insider in the apex chamber, who preferred to speak on condition of anonymity, told our correspondent that the president had agreed to withdraw the list because the Senate had made it clear to him that his list was not acceptable to the parliament, as the ears and eyes of the electorate and custodian of democracy.

The source also said that the Senate rejected the ambassadorial list because its composition ran foul of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (as amended).

According to the source, the selection process used by Buhari was in flagrant disregard to the Federal Character principle, which provides that every state of the federation must be equitably represented in such critical appointments.

The source further told New Telegraph that the Senate found out that the president neither involved state governors of most states nor other political stakeholders such as the lawmakers to make input in the selection of the nominees, as has been the practice in a democratic government.

“The president has agreed to withdraw the list in order to work on it and make it acceptable because we have made it clear to him that there is nothing to be done for the Senate to accept that kind of skewed list.

“At least this is noncareer list, so the issue of some states not having qualified candidates does not arise. Unfortunately, the list he submitted to us is in total contradiction of the nation’s constitution, particularly as it affects the provisions of Federal Character.

“When you look at the list, you will find out that some states were completely left out while some got two to three slots. What kind of thing is that? We cannot take it and we have told him point blank that it will be more dignifying for him to withdraw it and correct all the anomalies spotted in the list.

“We cannot run this democracy like military dictatorship, neither are we going to allow any civilian, duly elected by the people of Nigeria to operate an authoritarian regime under the watch of the people’s parliament. “People may misunderstand us.

They may even accuse us of antagonising the president without a cause, but we won’t allow sentiments to detract us from doing what is right. It is we, the lawmakers, that history and posterity will hold responsible for our actions or inactions,” the source stated.

Buhari had, on October 20, forwarded the list of 46 non-career ambassadorial nominees to the Senate for screening and confirmation for appointment as ambassadors.

Shortly after Saraki read the list on the floor of the Senate, Senator Philip Aduda (FCT) protested the non-inclusion of any nominee from the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) on the list, describing the situation as unfair and urged President Buhari to revisit the matter and correct the anomaly in order to give FCT a sense of belonging.

Days after, some other senators drew the attention of the Senate to the fact that their states were not represented on the list, and urged that the omission be corrected before the Chamber could screen and confirm the nominees. Earlier in June, the President sent a list of 47 career diplomats to the Senate for confirmation.

The Senate has screened the nominees, while the Chamber is expected to confirm them any moment. The list also attracted a lot of protests from states that were not represented in the nominations.

The Senate invited the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Mr. Babachir Lawal, who came and convinced the lawmakers that the states omitted did not have qualified officers based on the criteria adopted by the president in the selection.

APC CRISIS: Tinubu Evades Peace Meeting

APC CRISIS: Tinubu Evades Peace Meeting

Bola Tinubu
The Guardian - The crisis in the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) is taking a turn for the worse. It was learnt that a meeting scheduled for last week Tuesday to resolve the controversy trailing the September 3 governorship primaries in Ondo State won by the former President, Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Mr. Rotimi Akeredolu, did not hold.

A source from the party said he was not aware of any meeting scheduled for last Tuesday, but confirmed the one scheduled for today at the instance of the National Chairman of the party, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun.

The Guardian learnt that the National Leader of the APC, Bola Tinubu, who is considered central to the issues, tactically evaded the last Tuesday meeting on the excuse of going abroad for a medical treatment.

Tinubu has been having a running battle with Odigie-Oyegun over the Ondo primaries and had openly called for his removal in a published statement.
Akeredolu, who allegedly got the blessings of some APC leaders led by Odigie-Oyegun and some ministers, won the primaries against Mr. Segun Abraham, the alleged preferred candidate of Tinubu. The situation resulted in the defection of Mr. Olusola Oke, one of the APC governorship aspirants, to the Alliance for Democracy (AD) to pursue his ambition.

As the crisis deepens, there is a rumour that the Abuja caucus is supporting Akeredolu while Tinubu, the Lagos chapter and some stakeholders in the South West zone are backing Oke, a development some people have described as anti-party activity perpetrated by the national leader.

It was learnt that whether the reconciliation meeting was to have been held last week or will hold today, Tinubu is not favourably disposed to attending any meeting with Odigie-Oyegun.

An influential party leader in the South West said: “I am not aware of the last Tuesday meeting but I knew that the national chairman called for a meeting for November 8 and the invitation was extended to some leaders including Chief Bisi Akande and Tinubu. What the agenda is, I don’t know but obviously the national leader is currently in Chicago and may definitely not attend the meeting.”

When The Guardian sought the opinions of some South West APC leaders on the issue, many of them said the crisis was beyond what they would want to get themselves involved in.

One of those approached, however, said : “Did you want me to tell you that some people are involved in anti-party activity when I don’t have any proof? There is a crisis, yes, but it has to do with the leadership of the party. They will resolve it.”

When also asked if Tinubu would return from his medical trip before the election, he retorted, “I am neither Tinubu nor Odigie-Oyegun. You can direct your question to them. I don’t want to get involved.”

Yet another South West member of the party said: “I am not from Lagos or Ondo. It is true I am close to the national leader but that doesn’t mean anything because I belong to the Oyo chapter of APC.”

The Guardian learnt that Tinubu deliberately travelled abroad to avoid going to Ondo to campaign for Akeredolu. “For instance, it would look abnormal if President Muhammadu Buhari goes to Ondo to campaign for Akeredolu and Tinubu fails to follow him. The best bet for him is to stay out of the country until the Ondo election is conducted.”

It was also alleged that some leaders of the Yoruba socio-cultural group, Afenifere are sympathetic to Tinubu over his plight in the APC and by so doing have decided to give their blessings to Oke, whom the national leader is allegedly supporting.

But the National Publicity Secretary of Afenifere, Mr. Yinka Odumakin dismissed the insinuation, saying he was not aware of such sympathy.

“I don’t have any interest in the Ondo governorship election outside the fact that the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) candidate, Mr. Eyitayo Jegede was shortchanged and his mandate transferred to Mr. Jimoh Ibrahim under questionable circumstances.”
“That development speaks volume about the kind of shenanigans Nigerians should anticipate in the conduct of the election. I doubt if there is going to be a level playing field for all the candidates to test their popularity before the electorate.”

Odumakin who said he spoke for himself, further denied having any sympathy for the APC. “I don’t belong to their party and Afenifere is not into partisan politics,” he said.

Why I Actually Snubbed Akeredolu's Campaign Rally - Chief Bisi Akande

Why I Actually Snubbed Akeredolu's Campaign Rally - Chief Bisi Akande

Bisi Akande
A former Interim Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Chief Bisi Akande, has said he did not shun the campaign of the party for its governorship candidate in Ondo State, Mr. Rotimi Akeredolu, contrary to reports in the media.

Akande, who spoke through his media aide, Mr. Lani Baderinwa, in a statement issued on Friday said he had been going abroad for medical treatment.

The former governor of Osun State, said he decided to stay away from stress in line with the advice of his doctors.

Apart from Akande, President Muhammadu Buhari; Vice President Yemi Osinbajo; Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and Governor Rauf Aregbesola were among those who were absent at the rally.

The statement read, “Chief Bisi Akande has no reason to shun APC campaigns and rallies in Ondo state because every APC aspirant that contested the Ondo state governorship primary in September has always been his close associate and knew so well that he (Bisi Akande) is being treated from one hospital to another in the USA, the U.K. and in Nigeria since last April.

“He, according to medical advice, is being asked to take things easy in the time being. Despite that, as an APC respectable leader, he has been working behind the scene to reconcile differences among the warring tendencies in the party.”
