Again, Gov. Fayose's Accounts FROZEN

Again, Gov. Fayose's Accounts FROZEN

Fayose
Barely three days after a Federal High Court, Ado Ekiti, dismissed a motion for stay of execution of the judgment unfreezing the accounts for lacking in merit, Some Zenith bank accounts belonging to the Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, have been frozen by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission again.

The alarm was raised by the Governor on Saturday

The governor said the bank refused to honour his cheque based on a directive from the EFCC when he went there on Friday.

Justice Taiwo Taiwo while ruling on the motion filed by the EFCC against his judgment unfreezing the accounts and delivered on December 13 said that “once a judgment is being executed, you cannot stay the execution again.”

Fayose said, “This is the impunity we are condemning. The bank and the EFCC got all the judgments of the court, but the agency still harassed the bank to act against the law. If I sent somebody with a cheque, they could give excuse but I was there myself; acts of impunity such as this cannot continue. We will challenge them.”

He added that he had received revelations that he would be “number one” in the country.

“Have you noticed that every attempt to impeach me has failed? How I will get there don’t ask me.”

On his recent election as the chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party’s Governors’ Forum, Fayose said, “ By the grace of God, we are going to reposition our party. The PDP is only a sleeping giant and when it wakes up, those mocking us now will quake. Charlatans who are one leg in, one leg out and causing confusion in the party would have to decide where to belong.”

In a related development, the governor has called on the Federal Government to review corps members’ monthly allowance from N19,500 to N50,000.

According to him, the current allowance can no longer sustain them as Nigeria continues to grapple with recession.

Fayose also decried the deplorable state of the Ekiti National Youth Service Corps’ orientation camp in Ise/Emure, pledging an immediate release of N20m for its renovation.

Inciting Comment: Apostle Suleiman Storms DSS Office With 30 Lawyers To Honour Invitation

Inciting Comment: Apostle Suleiman Storms DSS Office With 30 Lawyers To Honour Invitation

APOSTLE JOHNSON SULEIMAN
In a bid to honour an invitation by the Nigerian Secret Police, the DSS the General Overseer of Omega Fire Ministries Worldwide, Apostle Johnson Suleman will tomorrow, Monday 30th January 2017 storm their office with consortuim of 30 lawyers, report by Punch Newspaper suggests

Tthe cleric, according to media reports was invited for interrogation on Monday (tomorrow) by 10am, based on his recent alleged inciting comments that Christians should defend themselves against attacks by Fulani herdsmen.

Punch Newspaper said; “Suleman will be appearing before the DSS with about 30 lawyers because we believe that his persecution has become politicised,” a source stated.

The invitation is coming four days after Governor Ayo Fayose of Ekiti State foiled attempts by the DSS to arrest Suleman in his Hotel room at Ado-Ekiti.

The Christian Association of Nigeria had also raised the alarm that Suleman “has become a refugee in Ekiti State as security operatives are said to be searching every nook and cranny of the state to arrest him.”

The DSS had reportedly invaded a hotel in Ekiti where Suleman and his team, who were in the state capital for a crusade, were accommodated.

Our Source further disclosed that Aposle Suleman had indicated his intention to respond to the invitation.

When contacted, the clerics Communications Adviser, Mr. Phrank Shaibu, confirmed the invitation, saying he would appear before the DSS on Monday.

He said, “Yes, I can confirm to you that he (Suleman) was officially invited and as a law-abiding citizen, he will honour the DSS invitation on Monday. The invitation, though ludicrous and an afterthought, is a welcome development.”

Reacting to the invitation, Punch Newspaper further reported that former Prelate of the Methodist Church of Nigeria, His Eminence Sunday Ola Makinde, said that Nigeria should not be turned to a “police state.”

Makinde said, “He should be law-abiding, let him go and face the DSS. Let us see if they will detain him and they will detain so many religious leaders in Abuja.

“Nigeria is greater than any religion and Nigeria is greater than anybody. The DSS should watch it. If they like, let me be the next victim. What is annoying them is that Suleman converted from Islam to Christianity.

“Self-defence is permissible; they slapped our first cheek. They slapped the second cheek and we have no other cheek to turn for them. We may therefore resort to self-defence because this thing is becoming intolerable.”

The cleric is expected to tell the DSS how President Muhammadu Buhari would face impeachment threats and how Abuja would experience major fire explosion as contained in his predictions.

Suleman, according to a security source is also expected to give an insight into his prediction that “Buhari will be bereaved in 2017” and that the President’s “health needs attention.”

The security agency is also expected to drill him on his prediction that “Forces in Aso Rock are planning to poison current First Lady (Aisha Buhari).”

The security source said most of the actions and predictions of the prophet could destabilise the country.

2019: Northern APC Chieftain Champions Jonathan/Fayose Campaign: Launches BringBackJonathan Rally Tomorrow

2019: Northern APC Chieftain Champions Jonathan/Fayose Campaign: Launches BringBackJonathan Rally Tomorrow

Jonathan Fayose 2019
A chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC in Borno State Grema Terab, a former chairman of the State Emergency Management Agency, has reportedly begun the 2019 campaign of BringBackGoodluckJonathan in the northern party of the nation. A decision the APC in Borno State is not handling with levity.

To this end, the All Progressives Congress, APC in Borno State, has distanced itself from a campaign message allegedly authored by former chairman of the State Emergency Management Agency, Grema Terab, calling for the return of President Goodluck Jonathan to take over from President Muhammadu Buhari in the 2019 general election.

The State Secretary of the APC, Bello Ayuba said a statement from the APC became necessary because Grema Terab has been parading himself as a member of the APC in Borno State whereas there is no record of him being registered as card carrying member of the APC in any of the 312 wards across the 27 local government areas of Borno State.

“Last night, many of our APC members in Borno State were shocked to receive messages on their mobile phones with the following words in quote: “Fellow Northern Youths, join the launching of our movement to Bring-Back-Goodluck-Jonathan in 2019; holding tmr, Thursday,Abuja. All Northerners have failed this country and no northerner (Muslim or Christian)has capacity. Let us Northerners also concede the Vice President to Gov Ayo Fayose. He is the most courageous, honest Nigerian leader today. Jonathan/Fayose 2019 ticket will transform our country. Fayose is man of masses and Jonathan is very humble and the most capable leader in Africa. He is also a very very very generous man. Whoever worked with Jonathan say goodbye to poverty. We need empowerment in Nigeria. Signed The Great Grema Terab (former chairman, SEMA, Borno State)”, the statement noted.

Adding, the statement said, “while we respect the freedom of any Nigerian, including Grema Terab to associate with any political party and aspirant of his choice for all elective office, we found it disturbing that some Nigerians are already assuming Terab is a member of the Borno APC for the fact that he always identifies himself as a member of the APC in Borno State mainly because he once held public office as Chairman of the Borno State Emergency Management Agency from 2013 to 2015 and also openly associates with public office holders in Borno State and in Abuja who are of the APC.

”The Borno APC wishes to quickly inform the public that Grema Terab is not registered with the APC in any of the 312 wards in the 27 local government areas of Borno State and therefore, should not mistaken for a member of the APC in Borno State. The Borno APC completely disassociate itself from from any campaign message to Bring Back President Jonathan in 2019 given our experience of his poor handling of the Boko Haram insurgency in Borno and other parts of the northeast which is evident in the series of revelations concerning gross misappropriation of funds meant from procurement of arms.

”We respect the right of any Nigerian to campaign for Jonathan but we find it rather disturbing that the name of Borno can be dragged into a campaign of such at a time we are celebrating giant efforts being put up by the APC administration of President Muhammadu Buhari which resulted in the fall of Sambisa Forest, the liberation of many communities from the hands of Boko Haram insurgents, the rescue of hundreds of our abducted sons, sisters and daughters including some of our Chibok schoolgirls from the hands of Boko Haram in addition to attracting ongoing military cooperation from the international in prosecuting the war against Boko Haram.

”The Borno APC will not support anyone trying to distract the war against terrorism under the guise of an ill timed ‘Bring-Back-Goodluck-Jonathan Campaign which even went as far as using the slogan of the Bring Back Our Girls Campaign which mocks the agony of parents of yet to be rescued Chibok schoolgirls and sensitivity of all Nigerians and the International community over the schoolgirls abduction that worries all human beings with common sense,” the APC said.

...Says immunity not as sacred as human lives

Women, Youths Besiege EFCC Office, Demand Fayose's Arrested Over Arms Fraud
Angry women and youths yesterday besieged the headquarters of the Economic and Financial crimes commission, EFCC to demand the immediate probe and prosecution of the Ekiti state Governor, Ayodele Fayose over his involvement in the arms probe deal.

The group said although the Governor enjoys immunity, such is not as sacred as human lives.

The angry protesters under the banner of Patrioticc Mothers without borders also urged President Muhammadu Buhari to intensify the anti corruption campaign.

They said no Nigerian must be spared in the ongoing war.

Carrying various placards with inscription such as Governor Fayose must go, he can't continue to enjoy immunity, he should be treated like Sambo Dasuki among others, the group said the EFCC should be up and doing.

The leader of the group, Nnnenna Jideofor said, " the reality is that people are unanimous in desiring that the anti-graft agencies must not lose the anti-graft war.

"This is why there are deep running concerns in the land that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has been caged but we do not want to believe this. We do not want to accept that the EFCC is merely making a show of fighting corruption.

"Several developments contributed to the spread of this impression among Nigerians but our strong belief is that EFCC’s inability to do anything about the Ekiti State Governor, Ayo Fayose, publicly known beyond every shadow of doubt to have been a key suspect in the theft of money meant for purchasing weapons to fight Boko Haram terrorists, is the leading cause.

" The Ekiti state governor and his accomplices have blood on their hands in addition to stealing public funds. They took part in stealing the money meant for buying arms to fight Boko Haram.

"The crippling of the military’s fighting capabilities as a result of this have made some women widows and children orphaned.

"What Nigerians are saying is that the EFCC can lose its cases against others that took part in the theft of the arms money simply on account that Fayose is being treated as one who is above the law thereby providing his collaborator with the excuse that the Ekiti state governor cannot be walking free as a direct beneficiary while they get punished as partakers.

"His collaborators, former Minister of State for Defence, Musiliu Obanikoro, Senator, Iyiola Omisore and others have returned some money. The gravity of this crime does not permit that we wait indefinitely for Fayose to leave office. He would have finished spending his share of the loot by then. Besides, this implies the EFCC would not have any exhibit on him again – he has all the time to destroy evidence and clean his track while terrorists continue to kill Nigerians because of his action.

"The Ekiti State governor has now added criminality to brigandage as he diverting the state’s money to questionable NGOs and other shady groups to organise protests that favour his agenda in other states. This is not just unacceptable and immoral but also criminal as he has no right to disburse his state’s money to his cronies under the guise of NGOs or CSOs. Our belief is that more of this will happen if the EFCC does not immediately step in to put an end to this infraction.

Sometimes last year, the EFCC did the right thing when it froze Fayose's account with Zenith bank even though some laughable court ruling later unfroze the account. God will visit judgement on corrupt judges that deliver ruling for a bribe but it is the task of the EFCC to fish them out for punishment.

"The EFCC must again help Nigerians to test the law by immediately whisking Fayose before a competent court after his arrest for being part of those that instigated the arms purchase scandal. We do not see how the immunity granted him by the constitution was meant to protect governors from criminal liability especially where the case of theft is involved.

"The world laugh at us as people who empower public office holders to steal. That the EFCC is now treating the matter as if Nigerian laws and constitution gave Ayo Fayose a blank cheque to steal and not be questioned is an insult to all decent Nigerians and torture to families that have lost loved ones to terror attacks that continued because there were no military gear to fight terrorists.

"Many legal experts have endorsed the position that this man should be hauled before a court like the common criminal that he is. Because the kind of outrage he has committed was not envisaged by those who made the constitution. He can no longer hide behind the law.

"To the lawmakers in Ekiti State House of Assembly, we are disappointed they have lost their souls to an overlord. They ignorantly go about boasting how no one can make them impeach Fayose, Their cups will soon overfill. We beg the EFCC to as a matter of urgency investigate how much these members have received either through Fayose or his proxies.

"We must know what the compromise is. We demand how much of the funds meant for buying weapons found its way into their pockets and who paid them the bribes.

"EFCC owes us as mothers, it owes us as Nigerians to reassure us that its refusal to arrest Fayose up till this moment is not the reason why it has become a relic, a shadow of the anti-corruption agency that was once dreaded for its efficacy" she said

The spokesperson of the EFCC, Wilson Uwugiaren and a staff of the commission, Umaru Mohammed who received the letter of petition on behalf of the acting Chairman of the EFCC, Ibrahim Magu promised to follow it up and ensure that justice is done.

Fayose 'Throws Out' FG's Public, Civil Servants From Ekiti Estate

Fayose 'Throws Out' FG's Public, Civil Servants From Ekiti Estate

Ayodele fayose
Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti State has evicted the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) State command from Fayose Estate in Afao Road, Ado Ekiti.

This is reportedly part of measures to get out of the hard-biting economic recession pummeling Ekiti State.

Other agencies given the quit order from Fayose Housing Estate include some Federal Ministries, Agencies and Parastatals.

The estate which housed NSCDC, Prison Service, National Agency for Food Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC), National Orientation Agency, National Board for Technical Education (NABTEB) and others was built by the Governor during his first term in office as a governor of the state.

Findings revealed in Ekiti on Wednesday that the state government had earlier given a year period of grace to all the ministries to look elsewhere for accommodation or buy the property as the state can no longer give out its property free of charge to agency.

The period of grace ended on December 31, 2016 after which a letter of eviction was served on the occupants of the estate.

The letter reads that “failure to quit the property will result into facing a rent tribunal sitting in Ado Ekiti.”

It was reliably gathered that this development had forced the NSCDC officers in the state into sacrificing part of their January salary to buy the property as other well-meaning Nigerians to assist the Corps.

Responding, the Spokesman of the Command, Tolu Afolabi, noted that “not only Civil Defence was evicted by the State Housing Corporation from the property as earlier stated in an online news but all the federal agencies in the estate.”

Governor Fayose And His Demagoguery, By Okoi Obono-Obla

Governor Fayose And His Demagoguery, By Okoi Obono-Obla

Ayodele Fayose
Governor Ayo Fayose of Ekiti State [below] is a study in juvenile delinquency in governance and opposition!

He is loud mouthed, irritant, infantile, unreasonable and irrational in his argument and perspective to the extent that he tries to politicize, sectionalise and trivialize every policy drive of the Federal Government all in a desperate frenzy and bid to score cheap political points and project and promote himself as an opposition leader!

Governor Fayose does not talk like a serious political leader of this country who ought to reflect and ruminate on what he says taking into account the implication on the polity and its security well-being!

His recent outburst on the Financial Regulatory Council of Nigeria Governance Code which prescribes that stipulates 20 years for heads of religious groups and civil society groups in the country!

Pursuant to the Financial Regulatory Council of Nigeria , the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG),Pastor Enoch Adeboye last Saturday announced his stepping down and the appointment of Pastor Joseph Obayomi as the new leader of the Church in Nigeria .

Characteristically in his usual style of brusque politicking and playing to the gallery Governor Fayose has twisted the whole thing to score cheap political points!

He carelessly and groundlessly suggested that the Financial Regulatory Council of Nigeria Governance Code is aimed by the Federal Government to be used as an instrument to attack the Church and tamper with its administration.

Governor Fayose untruthfully told an audience during a Church service to mark the 53rd birthday anniversary of his wife, Mrs Feyisetan Fayose on Sunday in Ado Ekiti that the Federal Government wants to subdue the Church and that Christians are being slaughtered in South Kaduna!

This is unfair and lies from the pit of hell calculated to mislead and instigate Christians against the Federal Government.

In the first place, the Financial Regulatory Council of Nigeria Governance Code was enacted during the time of former President Goodluck Jonathan contrary to the impression created by Governor Fayose that it was a creation of President Muhammadu Buhari!

It is settled that under the present Constitution which the country operates, the power of law making is exclusively vested on the National Assembly; so it is a misleading and patently wrong for Governor Fayose to suggest that the Financial Regulatory Council of Nigeria Governance Code was enacted by President Muhammadu Buhari regime to undermine the Church !

Secondly, it is unfortunate and grossly irresponsible for Governor Fayose to create the impression that the crisis in Southern Kaduna is a religious matter or that Christians are deliberately targeted for elimination there!

We all know that ,despite the spirited efforts to change the narrative, that the crisis by some mischievous people the crisis in Southern Kaduna is Not a religious one in any ramifications!
This crisis has been recurring since 1987 !

I do not know what the likes of Governor Fayose aim to achieve by playing such dangerous Politics with such delicate matters!

APC Offered Me Bribe, Appointment, Luxury Cars To Fight Fayose - RTEAN Boss

The Ekiti State Chairman of Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria, Samuel Agbede, has alleged that the All Progressives Congress of offering him bribe to work against Governor Ayodele Fayose.

He said the opposition party also promised him political appointment, luxury cars and other incentives if the association could support it in its plan to frustrate the state government.

Agbede said his rejection of the bribe led the APC to sponsor some willing members of RTEAN to cause confusion in the association.

Speaking with DAILY POST in Ado Ekiti during the inauguration of the first phase of the state RTEAN secretariat, Agbede vowed that no amount of harassment, intimidation and threat will make him to withdraw support for Fayose.

“They offered me money, promises political position and luxury cars among other things. I rejected them.

“Their latest antics is that they gathered former members of the executives to be causing trouble within the association.

“I will never deviate. I’m working in line with the Constitution of RTEAN which says we should support the government of the day,” he said

Reeling out his achievements, Agbede said he had empowered over 30 drivers by making them car owners since assumption of office and promised to continue to do so.

He appealed to members to control their emotion so as not to harass innocent private car owners on the road.

Arms Deal: Why Fayose Must Be Arrested - CSOs

A coalition of five anti-corruption Civil Society  Organizations under the auspices of Corruption and Democracy Watchers in Nigeria has given reasons why Ekiti state governor, Ayodele Fayose must be impeached as well as prosecuted for his role in the arms deal scandal.

This was contained in a communiqué issued at the end of an interactive session by the coalitions in  Lagos  On the Theme “The Buhari Anti-Corruption Drive: An Assessment” said

It said the huge loss of innocent lives, destruction of the properties of Nigerians and the humanitarian crisis arising from this neglect of insurgency, railroaded by the looting of the $2.1 billion arms procurement fund are enough reasons to demand the arrest of the governor.

According to the comminque signed jointly by Comrade Abdulmalik Shaba, Chairman, Communiqué drafting Committee and Comrade Aisabo Tunde, Secretary,  Communiqué drafting Committee, the coalitions urged the EFCC in conjunction with the DSS to commence immediate investigation of the Governor, as immunity clause does not shield him from criminal probe pending his arraignment in court at the expiration of his tenure.

It said Governor Fayose  should be compelled to return the huge sums of money he allegedly looted from the arms procurement fund to the coffers of the Federal Government of Nigeria without further delay or Nigerians would be forced to massively protest against him to compel compliance.

The communique reads partly, "we are particularly irked at the amazing revelations on the looting and criminal diversion of the $2.1 billion arms procurement fund under the office of the former National Security Adviser (ONSA), headed by Col. Sambo Dasuki (rtd) (otherwise known as Dasukigate) voted for the purchase of arms and ammunitions to battle Boko Haram insurgency in Northeast Nigeria.

"It expressed concern at the slow pace of investigation and prosecution of the suspects involved in the Dasukigate and other corruption acts, by the judiciary, and urged security agents and the judiciary to expedite action on the pending cases in order to dish out justice to families affected by the insurgency.

"And that Nigerians and international community should enlist in the campaign of prevailing on Governor Ayodele Fayose to do the needful by coughing out the looted arms fund. Failure in this regard would imply the failing in assuaging the pains of humanity which suffered as a consequence of his criminal and wicked act on defenseless and vulnerable Nigerians.
