SHOCKER: 9 APC Governors Set To Quit Party Ahead 2019

SHOCKER: 9 APC Governors Set To Quit Party Ahead 2019

SHOCKER: 9 APC Governors Set To Quit Party Ahead 2019 New Telegraph - Ahead of the 2019 presidential elections, there are indications that some state governors elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) are planning to ditch the ruling party.

The rumoured exit, according to a party leader, will affect the fortunes of the governing party and President Muhammadu Buhari’s future ambition in 2019.

Except the president and party leaders move fast to heal the wounds in APC, no fewer than nine governors and hundreds of party chieftains are on their way out of the party.

The APC is expected to suffer more in South-West and North Central. Although the APC, the ruling party at the centre, currently controls 23 out of the 36 states of the federation, a number of governors in these states have become disenchanted with the party and the government at the centre.

Another source told our correspondent that some of the governors are reaching out to their colleagues in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for alliance in forming a new political platform.

New Telegraph learnt that the cracks which developed in the APC soon after the party’s historic electoral victory last year, have continued to widen by the day due to the perceived policy of exclusion unleashed on its members from the top hierarchy of the party.

The negative policy has manifested mostly in the alleged lopsided appointments made by President Buhari since he assumed office 16 months ago.

The governors are also uncomfortable with the non-fulfillment of many populist campaign promises upon which the party rode to power. However, National Secretary of the APC, Hon. Mai Mala Buni has dismissed the reports of the impending defection of some governors as untrue.

According to Buni, President Buhari and the governors “are on the same page of providing democracy dividends to the electorate.” A member of the ruling party, who spoke with New Telegraph in confidence, said the governors had been bearing the pains of dashes hopes and exclusion from major decisions of government for a long while, but were forced to voice it out after Buhari released his list of ambassadorial nominees and they found that they were completely sidelined from the process.

“You recall that recently, the governors wrote him (Buhari) a letter and sent a delegation to deliver the message to him. They just couldn’t believe that those appointed as ambassadorial nominees from their states were not known to them, the governors. I must tell you that that letter is a warning shot and a signal of what we should expect as we go into 2017.

Most of these governors are fed up with this style of leader ship where everything is done by the so-called cabal in Aso Rock without consultation with other stakeholders.

“You know that since 1999, the governors have been major stakeholders in our democracy. Some people may not like them, but they deserve some respect because they are the political leaders in their various states.

They do not just have control over the machinery of government in their states, they have their loyalists at the two chambers of the National Assembly and a President can only ignore them at his own peril,” he said.

New Telegraph learnt that apart from the frosty relationship between the Presidency and the leadership of the National Assembly dating back to the inauguration of the 8th Assembly, some of the governors have been making inroads into the parliament, using their influence to checkmate the Presidency.

There have been speculations that some of the governors were the brains behind the stalling of a number of proposals sent by the executive to the legislature.

It was learnt that a number of governors, particularly those from the South- West geo-political zone are already on their way out of the APC because of the perceived humiliation of the national leader of the party and former Governor of Lagos State, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, by the party and the presidency.

Sources within the party disclosed that given what has happened in the Ondo State primary elections, the mass defection of APC governors and members to different political party will only be a matter of time.

“I am sure you are not expecting these governors who rode to power on the Tinubu political machinery to still stick out their necks for a man who has maltreated their principal. They won’t because right now, they are aggrieved that those of them who came into the APC from the defunct Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) have been sidelined along with their leader. “Why do you think some people staged the pro-Tinubu rally recently?

These are clear signals that the party is heading for a major implosion where everyone will take their destiny in their own hands,” the source said. Similarly, their counterparts in the North Central who also feel shortchanged by the APC, a party they massively supported in 2015, have kick started a process of re-alignment with other political interest groups.

New Telegraph gathered that some political heavyweights in the North Central are toying with the option of aligning with their associates in the North-East geo- political zone to form a formidable political block ahead of 2019.

A source, who is conversant with the plans, disclosed that currently, the alliance is being coordinated on the platform of a socio-cultural organisation, pending when the time comes to unveil the real agenda.

Another clique within the North Central is said to be warming up to join forces with some elements who have become politically displaced by the crisis in the PDP and some aggrieved elements from the APC to float a new political party that could challenge the APC.

Meanwhile, a former Chairman of the APC in Kaduna State, Dr. Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, said President Buhari must intervene to fix the crisis in the party and save it from disintegration.

Baba-Ahmed, a retired federal permanent secretary, acknowledged that some members of the APC were joining forces with others to form a new political platform.

According to him, the problems affecting the party have been left to linger for too long and must be settled in the next few months, if the party hopes to retain power in 2019.

“Even if you can forgive some of the crisis and blame it on inexperience, you cannot forgive the fact that we have tolerated this crisis for too long. “They have persisted, and that is not something we should excuse, we should not also excuse the existence of massive problems in states and at the national level. “Those who have the responsibility of fixing the APC as a political platform are not fixing it.

It is what we are seeing now; a large number of powerful people within APC are walking away from it, thinking that it is beyond redemption. That is unfortunate and I think it is a major setback for the party.”

Buhari SHOCKED, Confused As Detectives Uncover Huge Payments To All Justice From A Mysterious Secret Account

Buhari SHOCKED, Confused As Detectives Uncover Huge Payments To All Justice From A Mysterious Secret Account

Buhari SHOCKED, Confused As Detectives Uncover Huge Payments To All Justice From A Mysterious Secret Account
Detectives have uncovered huge cash payments to Supreme Court Justices, members of the management and staff of the apex court.

Some of the payments, which were effected through a secret/ Operation Account, are alleged to be outrageous and outside the allowances approved by the Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC).

The allowances include cash for justices and management staff during festivities, especially Easter, Christmas, Ramadan and Eid-el Kabir.

Detectives are probing why the apex court paid cash instead of remittance of such payments to the accounts of the beneficiaries.

The Presidency is said to be  in dilemma on what to do because all the former Chief Justices of Nigeria (CJN) and Justices of the Supreme Court were paid the jumbo allowances in cash from the unauthorised secret/ Operation Account.

Some documents attached to the charge sheets of some of the suspects on trial by the Department of State Service (DSS) provide insights into the cash payments.

The breakdown of  what the past and present CJN and Justices have been receiving since 2009 is as follows: Salary—N750,000 (paid into account of each Justice); N750,000 monthly subsidy—(payment in cash); N950,000 quarterly subsidy (payment in cash); £10,000 (estacode) for trips (payment in cash); $25,000 (medical fees yearly (payment in cash); Unspecified payment for Business Class to them and spouses in cash depending on airline; $750 per night for number of days abroad in cash;  N350,000  cash as welfare for each of the festivities (Easter, Christmas, Ramadan, Eid-el-Kabir); Chief Registrar—N700,000 as robe allowance; N200,000 for each of the festivities (in cash); and other lawyers—N500,000 as yearly dress allowance (In cash).

A top security source, who spoke in confidence, said: “Detectives have unearthed all manner of allowances which were paid and still being paid to Supreme Court Justices since 2009 from a Secret/Illegal/ Operation Account.

Some of these allowances are outside those ones approved by RMAFC. Our investigation confirmed the RMAFC approvals for CJN and the Justices as including regular salary and allowances: Monthly Basic Salary; Vehicle Maintenance/Fuelling; Personal Assistant; Domestic Staff; Entertainment; Utilities; Outfit; and Newspapers/Periodicals.

“Their Non-Regular Salary and allowances include: Accommodation (once annually); furniture (once in four years); annual leave bonus; severance/gratuity (after successful tenure); vehicle loan (optional); Duty Tour Allowance per night (where applicable) and Estacode per night (where applicable).

“In fact, one of the arrested Justices was in December 2014 paid N2million as a mark of welfare from the court to support him for his daughter’s wedding.

“So, we discovered a lot of discrepancies in the allowances being paid to the past Chief Justices of Nigeria and Justices of the Supreme Court since 2009. Even four of the Justices who are beneficiaries of the monetisation policy still earned double allowances.

“Technically, everyone was paid all these unauthorised allowances from the operation account based on the computation of the management. Nobody knows how the allowances were arrived at.

“And the situation has not changed. We have documents showing that all the Justices were paid N910, 000 in April and N710, 000 in May as allowances.”

On the status of the Operation Account, a document confirmed that one of the officials of the Supreme Court told DSS interrogators: “All these payments, except the salary, are paid in cash to the Justices which they signed for collection. I am aware that has been the tradition but I am not sure of any written authority backing the payment.

“None of the Justices has ever, to my knowledge, refused payment of medical fees given to them.”

But another source said the Operation Account was legally opened in 2009 after the e-payment policy was introduced.

The source cited a memo, dated March 3, 2009 by a former Deputy Director (Finance and Accounts).

The memo has also been tendered in the court by the DSS as part of its evidence against some suspects.

He said the memo was explicit that the Justices be paid in cash.

The memo, signed by M. B. Tambawal and sent to the then Chief Registrar of the Supreme Court, said: “You may recall that we had a management meeting last week where we discussed the way forward on e-payment. We had various suggestions on how to have an Operation Account that would ease the operations of this Honourable Court.

“In view of this, I humbly wish to suggest that a non-COT Operation Account be opened for the cashier (Ahmed Fagbenro).

“The account would accommodate payment for their Lordships and staff. The cashier will be responsible in cashing these payments and pay to the beneficiaries. He would keep a Petty Cash Book in order to record the payment plus a register that would be signed by the payees.”

The source added: “You can see that all the former CJN, present CJN and Justices of the Supreme Court were made to collect the allowances in cash by the management. This is not their making at all; they have committed no infractions.

“I think it is a system problem which the present Chief Registrar, Ahmed Gambo Saleh is trying to reform since 2014.”

The Presidency is weighing options because everyone has collected unauthorised allowances unknowingly. They are also unexpected to collect payment in cash  – in line with financial regulations. I think they are victims of bureaucratic trap, but ignorance is no excuse in law.

“What the government is doing is to address the issue of corruption first before looking into other accountability problems besetting the Supreme Court.

“Certainly, the management of the Supreme Court needs to be overhauled. This is part of the agenda for the incoming CJN in collaboration with the Presidency.”

The Chief Registrar of the Supreme Court,  Ahmed Gambo Saleh has denied involvement in any fraud or sharp practices in the apex court.

He also said he was never involved in any bribe deal or in the management of Operation Account.

Saleh, who made the clarifications in his testimony to the DSS, said he has introduced reforms, including stoppage of cash payment, since he took over in 2014.

He said: “I have never directed anyone to pay the sum of either N12million or N18million to any Justice of the Supreme Court.

“”I am aware the practice of cash payment is not in line with financial regulations but that has been the tradition I met in the court.

“But on assuming office, I stopped cash payments to staff; all payments are now paid into their accounts.

“The Operation Account is in Ahmed Fagbenro’s name (the Cashier); I don’t know how much is the balance in the account.”

APC Crisis: Tinubu Responsible For Own MISFORTUNES - Former Ekiti Gov. Fayemi Tears Estranged Godfather To Shred
Sequel to the ongoing intraparty crisis segregating the leadership of the All Progressive Congress (APC), another known "political son" to Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, who had chosen to pitch his tent with President Muhammadu Buhari and the National Chairman of the party, Chief John Oyegun, Dr Kayode Fayemi has thrown a stone at his former political godfather, Tinubu over the weekend.

The Minister of Solid Minerals Development, who Saturday described the embattled national leader of the party as a leader and hardworking person, however maintained that Tinubu was responsible for his own misfortunes in the party, saying no one can be seeing himself as the indispensable where thousand of intellectuals operate.

According to the former Ekiti State governor, "Asiwaju might have been instrumental to the political breakthrough of some of us, he has the financial muscle, but we equally paid our dues without opportunity of negotiation. We have always been the "Yes Sir" types and we never complained. But we never expected him to think such can continue where development takes place. It is no news that whatever goes around comes around."

Fayemi urged the supporters of the President Buhari-led administration to remain steadfast and focused. He added that the present economic situation of the country was a result of some injurious pieces of advice given the presidency at the inception of this administration by some people he described as leaders without visions who had wanted to hijack the presidency before God's intervention.

He assured Nigerians that everything shall soon take formation and the country shall regain her strength again as the giant of Africa, adding that Asiwaju Bola Tinubu should not continue tearing the party and the country apart with his "golden silence" which he (Fayemi) said was destructive and well understood.

"Asiwaju's antics are not new to us. We can never underrate his political calculations and permutations. Yet, we cannot continue worshiping him. He deserves respect that we are giving but should stop making this country and our party ungovernable for our leaders. The steering is always meant for the driver and not in conjunction with the conductor.

"Once a political party is formed and a national leader is appointed or elected, other mini-leaders should be humble enough to respect the decisions of the constituted authority no matter what. Wherever there is no orderliness, there can never be progress, and we call ourselves the Progressives. We must be ready to live out our name as the Progressives.

"What happened in Ondo State during our primary that produced Chief Rotimi Akeredolu against the wishful calculation and permutation of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu to impose Hon. Segun Abraham was a complete display of egocentric orientation by Asiwaju. No single man, I repeat, no single individual can override the decision of our political party. No more in APC!

"We have presented Akeredolu and we believe he is winning the governorship election by all means. Ondo people have supported our candidate and with the reactions of the people, he has the victory already. Our second coming to this state will be to inaugurate Chief Rotimi Akeredolu (SAN) as the Governor of Ondo State, political anti-party and calculations of some disgruntled elements notwithstanding, because everything, I mean every arrangement is in order," Kayode Fayemi assured APC supporters.

2019 & Fallout With Tinubu's South-West: Buhari Turns South-East To Construction Sites

2019 & Fallout With Tinubu: Buhari Turns South-East To Construction Site
President Muhammadu Buhari has turned the South-eastern part of the nation to construction of various projects site as part of political realignment ahead of the 2019 general elections, to woo the region, report according to Punch Newspaper suggests.

It was gathered in Abuja on Saturday, according to Punch Newspaper that the President had directed that infrastructure gaps in the South-East should be bridged.

It was also learnt that apart from reviving old alliances with associates, the president’s allies were also counting on political bridges built by northern politicians with their eastern counterparts over the years.

In addition to these political moves, Buhari was said to have ordered contractors handling various infrastructural projects in the zone to return to site.

This is aimed at ensuring the speedy completion of the rehabilitation of some federal roads in the region.

Findings showed that emphasis would be placed on the following projects: Port Harcourt-Aba Road, Abriba-Arochukwu-Ohafia Road (Abia State,; Oji-Achi-Obeagu-Mmaku-Awgu-Ndeaboh-Mpu-Okpanku Road (Enugu State), Second Niger Bridge and the Ikot Ekpene Border-Aba-Owerri Road (Akwa Ibom/Abia and Imo States).

Buhari is also said to be eager to erase the impression that he would punish the zone for voting against him during the 2015 election.

This is coming on the heels of subtle threats by some members of the ruling All Progressives Congress, especially from the South-West, to reassess their membership.

A prominent member of the party, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said, “Of course, a lot of realignment is going on.

“Even the media war between former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and Kaduna State Governor, Nasir el-Rufai, should tell you something.”

He added, “The 2015 elections taught us that no part of this country can be ignored. The PDP took the North-Central for granted and they paid for it. The news from the South-West is giving us concerns but we are addressing the issues. We don’t want to leave anything to chance.

“The president is a better politician than many are willing to give him credit for. He listens, he has instructed that infrastructure, especially roads in the zone, be revisited. He knows such projects have a direct impact on the lives of ordinary people.”

The Director General of the Voice of Nigeria, Mr. Osita Okechukwu, however, said it would be wrong to give political colouration to the president’s desire to give every part of Nigeria a sense of belonging.

He explained that in one of his first acts as president, Buhari approved a bailout for interested state governments, irrespective of political affiliations to access funds to pay their workers, some of whom were owed up to 18 months.

Okechukwu said, “The rehabilitation of roads has started across the land not only in the South-East. Mr. President is looking for the best way to meet up with the promises we made during the campaign.

“On the issue of our south-eastern brothers coming back home to the APC where they belong, you and I know that nobody can poach somebody like Orji Uzor Kalu. He is not a hungry man.”

The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media, Garba Shehu, could not be reached for a reaction as calls to his mobile telephone were neither picked nor returned. There was no response to a text message sent to him as of the time of filing this report.

However, a highly placed Presidency source told our correspondent, “I am not aware of any special plan for the South-East but I know a stakeholders’ meeting similar to what was held for the South-South is being planned for the South-East (Zone) this year.”

Motorists and road users in Imo State have begun to heave a sigh of relief as the Federal Roads Maintenance Agency commenced repairs of some failed stretches of federal roads in the state.

The motorists plying the busy Owerri-Obowo-Umuahia road described the repairs as timely and requested the agency to sustain the tempo of the reconstruction.

One of the commuters, Mr. Benjamin Mgbelechi, told our correspondent that the deplorable state of the road had forced motorists to look for detours before joining the main alignment, which he said occasionally led to crashes.

Mgbelechi noted that the state of the road had caused untold hardships to road users, adding that it is not uncommon for motorists who use the road to visit mechanic workshops more often than not.

Another motorist, Mr. Cletus Ohiri, stated that at Enyiogugu Mbaise axis, motorists witnessed constant traffic gridlock.

He said, “Owing to washout at that spot, motorists spend hours in heavy traffic.”

A 54-year-old resident of Umulogho in Obowo LGA, Mr. Okechukwu Isika, said the bad state of the road made it easy for robbers to operate.

Isika commended FERMA, adding that the repairs would save many ugly situations especially as Christmas approaches.

A trader, Mrs. Juliet Njoku, also noted that the bad road had affected their businesses negatively.

She said, “We pay through the nose to convey our goods to the markets. Even when we get to the market, the goods are not sold because of the (delayed) time of delivery.

“Also, when we add money to the goods to make up for the high transportation fare, people don’t buy. They usually say the price is high.”

A FERMA Engineer in Imo, Mr. Chukwuemeka Maduagwu, said the agency would ensure that federal roads are without potholes and failed spots.

Maduagwu said, “Within the limit of available resources, we will ensure that all failed sections along our vital economic routes receive attention within the shortest possible time, especially as Christmas approaches with expected increase in traffic.”

Of Lively Sounds And Bubbling Nights in Damaturu, By Ali Idris
As a Nigerian and having lived in my country since birth, I have come to appreciate more of disbelieving the promises of our politicians, especially during partisan campaigns. Though, President Muhammedu Buhari (PMB) is a leader with a reputation for strong integrity and honesty, but I still doubted his campaign promise to end Boko Haram insurgency if elected President of Nigeria in 2015.

And when he re-organized the top hierarchy in the Nigerian military and Gen. TY Buratai was appointed Chief of Army Staff (COAS), he didn’t excite me too. When Buratai promised Nigerians to end Boko Haram terrorism in Nigeria by December 2015, I was infuriated the more. I suspected he is toeing their usual path of public deceit. But I have been pleasantly proved wrong in 2016.

After a trip to the Northeastern state of Yobe recently, the first in nearly two years, after I hurriedly left the place December 2014, because of the fear of terrorists, I sat down in my derelict one-room apartment in Kaduna in meditative mood. I didn’t know whether to shed tears of joy or mourn for the images of departed friends and associates which flooded my mind.

I was trapped in this two worlds because the relics of the dead were victims of terrorism. That was when the sect raged and raged like mad dogs. They went berserk, bombed and killed recklessly. I lost many beloved ones. (May their souls rest in peace). But I was consoled because peace is here at last. I nearly shed tears of joy at the return of life and normalcy to Damaturu, a place once held in captivity by the terrorists. It was the second hotbed of terrorists’ attacks in the Northeast, after Borno state.

In my short stint in Damaturu, we had experienced the invasion of scores of schools in Yobe state by these agents of the devil. In the fury of the wild beasts, they would violently invade schools in different parts of the state, burn schools, buildings and either kill or maim innocent students and teachers in droves.

I can still remember vividly the incident in September 2013 and the anguish of parents keeps playing back to me graphically. The incident widely referred to as the Gujba college massacre saw gunmen of the once dreaded Boko Haram sect invaded a secondary school where they reportedly killed over 50 students and teachers.

But I was particularly touched with the February 2014 incident at Federal Government College, Buni Yadi, where the terrorists invaded a boarding school in the dead of the night and freely murdered over 59 students and staff in cold blood. The rampaging beats burnt down students’ hostels and classrooms.

The terrorists also audaciously extended their anger to the host community and razed countless houses including the local government council’s secretariat complex, a high court premises, government/private establishments and telecommunications masts. What cruelty!

I cannot forget the incident because one of the affected students was the son of one of my neighbours, whom we simply called “Baba,” elderly, but very receptive and friendly man. He heard the news of terrorists' attack on the school of his son, but since he was too old, coupled with the tension that gripped him, Baba sent emissaries immediately, when phone calls to the place failed to click.

When he eventually confirmed the death of his son in the incident, he was crestfallen for days and kept murmuring to himself “ I loved him, but Allah knows best.”

The intensity of Boko Haram's attacks forced most private hospitals to shut down. The heavily guarded General Sani Abacha Specialists Hospital in Damaturu became the home of the injured and the dead. The hospital mortuary overflowed with corpses and the injured had no bed space. Doctors attended to patients in the open premises of the hospital. It was a soul-moving pathetic sight.

Fear enveloped me, as the terrorist pushed closer to Damaturu, the state capital. I hail from Niger state and came to Damaturu on the invitation of my friend, Ahmed Jabuski. I was there in search of greener pastures after my Diploma course. I was doing temporary jobs, but earned enough to meet my basic needs and even saved a little.

But after the Buni Yadi college massacre, I told my friend I was no longer confortable in Damaturu. My fears were exacerbated by the terrorists’ several, but repelled attempts to capture Government House Damaturu. The incidents convinced me very clearly that if terrorists could come this far in their exploits, nobody was safe.

The state capital itself bore the insignia of a city under armed siege. There were security agents everywhere, roads closed or had several road blocks, markets provided skeletal services, banks were sealed; schools shortened their hours of operation. And sounds of guns took over the serenity of communality and social or night life ceased instantly. Grazing fields were empty and farmlands deserted much as most homes and communities.

Back to my base in Niger state, I gave up hope about Damaturu and Yobe state. In my mind, I thought no miracle could rescue it from the hands of the monsters , except God’s special intervention. Even my friend Jabuski relocated to Jigawa shortly after I left. But he is now back. And I could not believe myself when I again visited Damaturu recently. I came back a few days ago.

The city that lost its soul, humanity and serenity has bounced back with sounds of life and bubbling. Markets, schools, relaxation spots, roads, banks, hospitals and offices are back to life. There is free movement to anywhere, except beyond 10pm because of the partial curfew in the state capital.

The presence of security agents is also minimal at least in the township. I asked and was told, no terrorist attack has taken place for nearly a year and the public phobia of violence has also vanished. Hospitality business is again flourishing.

So, when I read in the news that Borno state governor, Kashim Shettima visited schools and other public offices and inspected some projects, I nodded my head that he has taken up the challenge of erasing the relics of the ruins. I could not but doff my heart to President Muhammadu Buhari , the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Gen. TY Buratai, our indefatigable soldiers and all officers and men of the Nigerian military for this wonderful accomplishment of restoring peace to the once troubled Damaturu and Yobe state generally.

Anyone who visits Damaturu now would hardly know this was a state capital in Nigeria, once assailed and almost overrun by evil men. May the Nigerian military keep it up and never mind persecution or blackmail, as the masses and the humanity they are serving is in deep appreciation of their sacrifices and efforts. May the lively sounds of lively days and nights in Yobe never cease again.

Tinubu And Ambushed Political Ambitions, By Okanga Agila
Self-styled national leader of the ruling APC, Senator Ahmed Bola Tinubu is in the political wilderness. For a politician of his status, whose passion for power is unsurpassed and believes in the kingmaker syndrome, but of a dubious dimension, President Muhammadu Buhari’s refusal to support his faulty permutations has been a sore in the throat. Buhari’s integrity to always see things straight has unknowingly ambushed his political ambitions and his is quite sad.

Many times, when Nigerians argue that politicians’ lust for power is for themselves at the expense of the ordinary masses, some skeptics vehemently deny the assertions. But the proofs are becoming clearer by the day.

Nigeria condescended to the abyss of a messy political decay, where all laws, rules or creeds governing the sanctity in party affairs or the polity were brazenly floated. At the turn of every political dispensation, the country would produce a mesh of wailers wailing for their ill-treatment, snatched party nomination tickets and a dangerously skewed democratic system, where some leaders assumed the status of demigods and other party members, pawns on their chessboard or slaves.

These desire to change this inherently defective posturing was the crest of “Change” upon which the APC anchored its campaigns in 2015 and eventually ousted the now opposition PDP. Tinubu’s constant refrains were loud chants of “change” and the broom waved symbolically to suggest the sweeping of the stains in the system, which he proudly emphasized, it was for the good of the country.

But Sen. Tinubu and some of his cohorts have gleefully forgotten all about “change” and the betterment of Nigeria. He has forgotten his pledge of commitment to make Nigeria great again. With PMB as captain of the ship, it is now about who gets what federal job patronage and not about who is competent to serve Nigeria. It is anger about what any APC political kingpin has not gotten enough in patronage; instead of strengthening the weak institutions of government to deliver good governance.

In his inured conviction, Tinubu thought having played a significant role in the enthronement of PMB in 2015; the President would sign off a chunk of Nigeria to dash him in appreciation. But PMB is a different kind of person or politician and the least to downplay public interest to please political godfathers. Tinubu is sufficiently angered with this reality and nothing seems to please him more than to contemplate a new platform, nurture it and begin another round of flirting on the innocent souls of Nigerians with all sorts of deceits.

There have been weeks of speculations about Tinubu’s intention to dump the APC to float a new party preparatory to confronting his political foes in 2019. Tinubu speaks less on this issue, but acts more. And an English idiom says, action speaks louder than words. He has given up hope that PMB would ever bow to his whims and caprices, by his refusal to sack APC national chairman, Chief John Oyegun or just like he declined directing the replacement of Ondo state 2016 APC governorship flagbearer, Chief Rotimi Akeredolu, with Tinubu’s candidate floored at the primary polls.

Therefore, when Nigeria’s former Vice President Atiku Abubakar barks in the uplands of the North about the wrongdoings of the Buhari presidency, he has sighted a disgruntled Tinubu and in him, “his soul must be well pleased” in 2019 for his dream of ruling Nigeria as President. He believes, when Tinubu coughs or thunders, the skies are pulled down and every Nigerian bows to his alluring political charm.

Now, Buhari’s series of reconciliatory meetings with Tinubu for amicable resolution of the crisis have proved abortive and Tinubu cannot ever be settled insofar as PMB is unwilling to be manipulated or do his bidding. So, Tinubu has decided to make a bold statement.

Tinubu shunned the party’s mega governorship campaign rally, in Akure, Ondo state. But no one expected him to grace it. How could he attend the campaign of an enemy, who snatched the ticket from his anointed candidate? While PMB personally attended the rally, with all APC governors, except that of Lagos state, Governor Akinwunmi Ambode; his Osun counterpart, Rauf Aregbesola and Ogun’s Abiola Ajimobi who also stayed away, obviously in allegiance to Tinubu for assisting them mount the throne in their various states.

In any case, even without their presence, the Akure rally was a resounding success. The interpretation of the failure of some of the APC governors to attend the rally in their geo-political zone based on the suspected prompting of Tinubu is their acceptance of being the apron strings of the APC national leader. It is this primitive loyalty Tinubu expects from Buhari. The APC leader thinks when he barks to PMB, his words should remain sacrosanct. Failure of the governors of nearby states to grace the presence of the President in their vicinity is indication of the disregard for the office of the President.

What the conduct has conclusively argued is that for the Tinubus and his clique what matters in the Nigerian project is how their stomachs are filled. That they are dissatisfied each time patronage extended to them is not enough. It is reason not to see anything good in the Buhari presidency or his other committed lieutenants’ and so, he must be unseated in 2019. Tinubu’s intemperate political ambitions and wealth accumulation flair has been ambushed so that Nigerians would come out better for it.

His kind of mentality is old logic to Nigerians. No amount of intrigues from Tinubu can blind Nigerians and re-baptise him with another name or the garments of a selfless politician. He is just a man after his “stomach,” after an incurable and deadly lust for power.

Whether Tinubu or his political friend of convenience, Atiku Abubakar discredits PMB, Nigerians whom he is serving faithfully are the witnesses and shall pass the verdict at the appropriate time. But what is certain is that Nigeria, at least under Buhari would not revert back to the doomed era of sharing the country’s commonwealth to a few greedy political elite. Nigeria’s NNPC will no longer be anybody’s ATM card to unfettered access to illicit cash; no cronies of the President, his friends and even the President himself would administer CBN from Aso Villa with secret codes to its US Dollar or other world currencies vaults to siphon Nigeria’s money.

Nigerians are excited that no long list of dead woods or unproductive persons are heading or make up membership of federal government boards or parastaltals, on the altar of party patronage. The country would no longer have political Military Generals, who spend more time at the Presidential Villa for cocktail parties’ while criminals’ challenge and take over swathes of Nigeria’s territories. Now, time tested, flat bellied and devoted military Generals who can command the Army, Air Force, Navy to achieve results are in charge. The Inspector General of Police (IGP) is berthing #ChangeBeginsWithMe in the Nigerian Police.

Ultimately, PMB pledged that he believes in any Nigerian who has the capacity to serve the country dedicatedly and truthfully, irrespective of party affiliation or religion. It is this dogmatic adherence to party patronage in appointments’ in the past that has destroyed or weakened public institutions of governance in Nigeria. And PMB is the least to succumb to blackmail in order to allow the mess in the polity flourish.

2019: Satguru Maharaj Ji Reveals Shocking Prophecies About Buhari, APC

 Satguru Maharaj Ji,
The spiritual leader of One Love Family, Satguru Maharaj Ji, has predicted that the All Progressives Congress (APC) will rule the country beyond 2019, the NAN reports. Maharaj Ji unveiled this prediction in Ibadan on November 18, Friday, at a press conference to mark the 36th anniversary of the sect.

The group’s leader said what the ruling party needed to do was to assure that those who defected from the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the party were watched to ensure that they do not tarnish the good intention of President Muhammadu Buhari.

The cleric also stated that defection of some PDP members to APC was to escape prosecution for offences of which they had been accused.

According Maharaj, Nigeria was in need of leaders like Buhari in order to create a new country to be proud of. He said: “If this is complied with, APC will stand by the name of Maharaj ji.

“I will make sure I support the party so that Nigeria would be free to enjoy the dividends of democracy. “Those that steal Nigeria’s money cannot escape; they would be fished out and forced to return every kobo they have stolen.

“I recommend to the federal government to give 1% of any loot recovered to any Nigerian who is able to offer fruitful information on such hidden money. “This would assist in the speedy recovery of stolen money and create a new image for Nigeria to the outside world. “Presently, the whole world looks at Nigeria as a country that encourages corruption.”

The spiritual leader also reacted to Donald Trump’s victory as American president-elect, saying that the new administration would bring greater benefits to Africa and the global community.

Maharaj believes that Trump is a wise man, judging from his plans to tackle illegal migration and terrorism. The cleric, who calls himself the ‘Living Perfect Master’, disclosed how the Super Eagles will bring the cup home at the 2014 world cup in Brazil if they could only come and test his mighty powers.

However, before the 2015 presidential election, he claimed that there was “no vacancy for Buhari at Aso Rock” for the APC candidate.
