Mr. Olakunle Johnson who recently defected from the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, the PDP to the ruling All Progressives Congress in Olorunda Local Council Development Area of Badagry Local Government, Lagos State, APC has cried out over what he perceived as threat to his life since the defection.
Mr. Olakunle, who is also the Commander General of a newly registered security organised known as Anti-Terrorist Detectives, ATD while speaking with Newspunch correspondent in Lagos said since his defection, there has been various threats to his life and properties.
According to him, few days after his defection to APC, his security trained officers apprehended a man, dressed as naval officer who later confessed was an working for Chief Olabode George trying to force his entrance to the training center of his organisation. The man's name who was later identified as .... was handed over to the military at Ibereko Barack, since he claimed he was a military man.
As if that was not enough, the next day after the man was handed over to the military for investigation, the same man in company of other six others dressed in Naval uniform stormed the training of ATD at Toll Gate, Ibiye, trying to force their way in to the premises. But for the prompt intervention of his media men who immediately began to take video recording of their action force the men dressed in naval uniform to retreat and took to their heels, removing the uniform they wore
When our reporter quizzed Mr. Olakunle Johnson on why were the peoples after him, he said, the leader of the gang had confessed that he worked with Chief Olabode George, who was his political godfather in the Peoples Democratic Party. Mr. Kunle said, the attack may not be unconnected to his defection. He said, no doubt, Chief Olabode George who he was loyal political godson to could not have been happy he defected to the APC. Coupled with the confession from the gang leader, it's obvious, Chief George and his PDP leaders in Lagos State were definitely looking for ways to eliminate him.
"By way of providence, I met Chief Olabode George few years ago. He had helped me in various ways. Infact, my relationship with him spur my defection from the defunct Acongress of Nigeria to the then ruling Peoples Democratic Party. So Chief Bode George and I were very cordial. He has been of tremendous help to transform my life, in fact, he owes me a lifetime appreciation."
On why the suddent acrimony between them, Mr. Kunle said; "Things began to fall apart between me and Chief when I was made the overall cordinator of SURE P/FERMA in Badagry Local Government in Lagos State. As the coordinator, I was directed to recruit and train some able body youths for the federal job placement in the SURE P/FERMA Scheme on behalf of the Federal Government-led By the then President Goodluck Jonathan. During the period, I discovered that my Boss, one Alhaji Abdulrazak Rafiu, popularly known as Otolorin were defrauding the innocent recruited youths by forcing them to pay some obnoxious fees for the SURE P/FERMA uniform and other fees. At the begining, I did not know the instruction did not emanante from the Federal Government, neither was it from our Principal, Chief Olabode George. In fact, I was also a victim of the fraudulent payment, because some of my relatives were among the youths, which I actually paid their charges"
"Thousands of these young Nigerian seeking jobs were forced to pay the sum of N35,000 to N45,000 each, which Otoloring said was charges for uniform, shoes and other training kits."
"Few months later, i was told that those fees were not ordered from the government. Immediately, I did my personal investigation and discovered that, Alhaji Abdulrazak, AKA Otolorin was the sole brain behind this act of duping the innocent jobseekers. When I confronted him, he said Chief Olabode George ordered the receipt of the payment. So I went to Chief George and asked him if that was true, but Chief Bode George said he was not in the know of such payment. He, Olabode George then summoned Alhaji Abdulrazak Rafiu and I to his house. Eventually, I discovered Chief might be innocent of this obnoxious charges from the innocent jobseeker."
"So on that day, Chief George directed Mr. Abdulrazak Rafiu to hand to me all forms for the trainees under me. He lso gave order that such illegal payme be stopped. After we left there, Chief Otolorin refused to give me the forms as directed by Chief George. Instead, he only gave me 500 forms out of 5000 forms I was due to collect."
"Immediately I got back to my office after the meeting, I called all the trainees and explained to them my innocence in the payment saga. The same day, I shared the 500 new forms to all new applican free of charge, contrary to what was obtainable before then. I have the video evidence of this"
"After that day, Alhaji Abdulrazak Rafiu went back to Chief George he discovered that I have been compromised by the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Chief Bola Ahmed Tinubu. That was few months to the last general election in 2015. Chief Bode George summonned me again and i told him I have never met Tinubu in my life, that Otolorin was only trying to defame me for exposing his fraud in the SURE P/FERMA saga. What I noticed was that, since that time Chief George began to suspect me too and the relation was not use to be the same again."
"On several occasions, Otolorin had launched attack on me even at PDP campaign. There was a particular campaign in Lagos, at Chief Gani Fawehinmi park, some set of hoodlums attacked my vehicle. If not for God, I may have been brutalized, even killed that day, becuase the thugs numbering about 50 attacked me and my supporters with dangerous weapons. My car and the buses we took to the campaign grand were severely damaged. When I reported the attack to Chief Olabode George that Alhaji Abdulrazak thugs attacked me, He was summoned. He did not deniy the allegation, but confessed he did because he discovered that i was sponsored by Tinubu to the campaign grant to spy on them.
"Despite the distrust and attacks, I manage to play along before, during and after 2015 general election, which we lost to the incumbent President Muhammadu Buhari."
