Accused of Silence; Ag President Osinbajo Voices Out Last On Southern Kadina Killings

The Acting President, Yemi Osinbajo has finally broken his silence on the incessant brutal killings of Christians by Fulani herdsmen in Southern Kaduna, highlighting the Federal Government already taken measures aimed at ending the crisis.

The Christians Association of Nigeria, CAN had accused the Vice President of silence, which it described as not golden, following the recent DSS harassment of Apostle Johnson Suleiman.

Speaking during the Biannual Conference of Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, PFN, in Benin, the Edo State capital, the acting President amid other things said the Federal Government had commenced investigations into the crisis.

According to Osinbajo, “investigations are ongoing; I can’t make any categorical statement.


“The Federal Government has taken steps by first aligning with the state government, and it is working with the police to be the first respondents.

“It is not true to say that Federal Government is silent about the killings: it is not true.

“Troops were sent in after a security council briefing was received from the state and police, after they found themselves not being able to curtail the killings.

“Every Nigerian leader, whether Christian or Muslim, tried to solve the problem of religious crisis and none succeeded.

“In many respect, the failure of our criminal justice system to punish culprits has not helped matters.

“Meanwhile, suicide bombers and those ready to die with their victims keep adding more satanic dimension to the public.
