Dorothy Mato: The Light That Beams Through The Darkness

Dorothy Mato (Mrs)
Dark moments are felt by everyone on planet earth. Both the rich and the poor have their dark moments. The most catastrophic situation to happen to any individual is to remain in darkness and consciously refuse to shine even when such a person has the wherewithal to do so.

Dorothy Mato whose political drive has faced thick darkness has refused to allow it to pull her into the mud of political dejection and rejection. She rather showed her resolute quest to thrive against all odds and beamed her light of hope and brightness to shine through the darkness of her political path. Her resilience politically has given her the inextinguishable flare to keep on upholding her faith in the Supreme Court judgement which finally came out to her favour. She is extremely thankful to the people of Vandeikya/Konshisha Federal Constituency who supported and prayed for her victory at the Supreme Court. It is her fervent desire to selflessly serve and place the interest of the people of Vandeikya and Konshisha above personal and political interest.

Mato’s victory at the Supreme Court is a sign of many good things to come to the people of Vandeikya and Konshisha. She will begin her good work once she is sworn in by the Speaker of the House of Representatives. Mato promised that he will rigorously work with those who are ready to project the interest of the people of Vandeikya/Konshisha Constituency. Her promise reflects Thomas Jefferson’s (the third President of the United States of America from 1801 to 1809) political philosophy. The American hero had articulated “the best government to be that which governs least”, he was equally convinced that “the welfare of the whole is the proper purpose of the state”.

Mato believes  in the means with which we are endowed to satisfy our wants, and the right to what we acquire by those means without violating the similar rights of other sensible beings; that no one has a right to obstruct another; that justice is the fundamental Law of society; that the majority, oppressing an individual, is guilty of a crime, abuses its strength, and by acting on the law of the strongest breaks up the foundation of society; that a government by representation is capable of extension over a greater surface of the country than one of any other form.

She believes that leadership is a collective responsibility which both the government and the govern play potent roles for the unity, development and progress of a nation to be sustained. And that the people of Vandeikya and Konshisha should have faith in her just like she has faith in them and together, they will move mountains.

Mato wants to reignite the patriotic spirit of the people of Vandeikya and Konshisha, and encourage the chairmen, counsellors and community leaders to develop and maintain strategic focus on their leadership trajectories for Vandeikya and Konshisha to experience momentous dividends of democracy they have been denied by those who have represented them before.
