BREAKING: Sanwo-Olu moves to stop Tinubu, Ambode, Fashola's pension emoluments.

An emerging report according to Punch Newspaper suggests that the Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu may have concluded plan to repeal pension and other emoluments which past governors of the state, including Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu are beneficiaries. 

According to the report, Sanwo-Olu made the disclosure on Tuesday while presenting the 2021 budget to the Lagos State House of Assembly

The governor disclosed his readiness to repeal the Public Office Holder (Payment of Pension Law 2007), which provides for payment of pension and other entitlements to former Governors and their Deputies.

The governor said;

"Mr. Speaker and Honourable Members of the House, in light of keeping the costs of governance low and to signal selflessness in public service, we will be sending a draft executive bill to the House imminently for the repeal of the Public Office Holder (Payment of Pension Law 2007), which provides for payment of pension and other entitlements to former Governors and their Deputies."

The National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC ; Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Minister for works, Babatunde Raji Fashola and the immediate past Governor of the state, Akinwunmi Ambode, are few among the beneficiaries, of which if the said pension law of Lagos State is repealed, will be greatly affected.
