Sesi made the call in a press statement released through his media team on Friday, 3rd of September 2021.
The young philanthropist, who has also indicated his interest to vie for a seat at the National Assembly to represent Badagry Federal Constituency by 2023 urged the residents, especially the youths who have attained the voting age of 18 years and above, and are yet to be registered previously to seize the opportunity of the new window of registration and revalidation announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission, the INEC.
He said the only way one can truly express his or her constitutional endowed franchise is by registering for the Permanent Voters' Card.
Sesi said the attainment of voting age of 18 years is not the only prerequisite to vote and be voted for, but registering and obtaining the PVC by all eligible voters. He, however urged the youths to ensure that they are actively indulge and involve in the electioneering processes that will determine who lead them, and determine the fate of their future in the corridors of power.
What was being said:
"To my fellow youths, It's good to agitate on social media; especially to decently express ourselves on any government policies and actions that we perceived as being detrimental to us. But social media agitation does not win elections, and may amount to nothing if we don't participate in the process that will actually empowered us to have a voice through voting."
"So, I urge all residents of Badagry, especially we, the youths, whose future's fate is being toyed with by poor leadership, to brace up to our responsibility to change the narrative by ensuring we speak with our thumbs on ballot papers by 2023 and beyond. But this cannot be feasible without the PVC, the only enabler of our franchise".
Sesi added that it's high time the youths shun all forms of electoral violence, thuggery and apathy. He said the only way to get rid of bad government and governance is through the ballot, which does not require violence but systematic participation of the process.
