Giving Tuesday  Festival Set to Ignite Generousity in Nigeria on December 2, 2025

GivingTuesday Nigeria , the  NGO with  global generousity movement that aims to inspire individuals to make a positive impact in the lives of others daily has announced plans for the nation's first-ever Giving Festival, scheduled to take place on December 2, 2025 , at Ilaje-Bariga, Lagos State, Nigeria. 

The festival will bring together corporate organisations, nonprofits, Media ,  volunteers, and members of the public to promote generousity, collaboration, and community service across Nigeria.

At the Press briefing  held at Eridan Space, Ikeja, Lagos , which  attracted a large turnout of media personnel and was attended by key staff members, including , Folakemi Adesina,  Abigail Akinbanire, Sunkanmi Oladejo, and Muibat Olaoye; the line up activities were unveiled .

Speaking at the media  launch, Folakemi Adesina, Country Lead of GivingTuesday Nigeria and founder of Do Good Charity Initiative, described the event as a milestone in advancing the spirit of generousity nationwide.

 "The Giving  Tuesday Festival is more than charity, it's about building a culture of generosity. For the first time, Nigerians from all sectors can come together to celebrate and practice giving as one community." She declared.

The Giving  Tuesday Festival 2025 will provide an opportunity for collaboration, learning, and volunteerism, with a focus on communities that rarely benefit from large-scale charity initiatives.

 The event will also feature a CSR Village showcasing corporate social responsibility initiatives, nonprofit booths highlighting grassroots impact projects, community activations including health checks, learning sessions, and giveaways, and volunteer-driven engagements promoting kindness and inclusion.

Organisers also plan to collect data from the event to measure impact and guide future initiatives, reinforcing transparency and accountability. Public awareness will be driven through media partnerships, digital campaigns, and collaborations with influencers, volunteers, and content creators.

A dedicated website has been created to provide information and registration access for interested partners and volunteers. The festival is open to the public, with opportunities for companies to participate as partners, sponsors, or exhibitors.

Since 2019, GivingTuesday Nigeria has led impactful campaigns such as GivingRamadan, Generosity of Books, GivingVoices, and GivingSeeds, reaching thousands of children, families, and communities nationwide.
