immigration Arrests Two Suspected Kidnapping Syndicate Members With ₦34m in Adamawa

The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Adamawa State Command, has arrested two men suspected to be members of a kidnapping syndicate and recovered ₦34 million in cash.

The suspects, identified as 55-year-old Alhaji Jaye and 34-year-old Buba Bello, were intercepted on September 6, 2026.

According to the NIS, the suspects claimed the money was meant to pay ransom for the release of a relative.

The suspects and recovered items have been directed to be handed over to the Nigeria Police Force, Adamawa State Command, for further investigation.

In a separate operation, Immigration officers also intercepted 17 irregular migrants at Rumde Baru in Yola South LGA.

The group comprised 13 Cameroonian nationals—8 males and 5 females—and four male Chadian nationals.

The NIS said undocumented migrants are increasingly moving from hotels to private, unregistered apartments within the state capital.

What do you make of the ₦34 million cash found with the two suspects?
