...Sues for respect and mutual understanding in discharging their duties
Chief of Staff to the Executive Governor of Benue State, Hon. Barr. Moses Atagher, has called on all the Governor's appointees in Vandeikya Local Government Area to work in synergy, uphold mutual respect, and maintain cordial relationships in executing their assigned responsibilities in order to contribute their quota to the continued success of the Fr. Alia-led administration.
The legal luminary made this call on Saturday, 16th August, 2025, when he played host to the Association of Kunav Governor's Appointees at his Makurdi residence.
While describing the numerous achievements of Fr. Alia in Benue State as "historic," he emphasized that disunity and lack of accessibility by public office holders in their various assigned portfolios will only frustrate accountability and undermine the practical tenets of internal democracy established by Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia in his transformation policies.
He assured the Kunav and Benue appointees of maximum cooperation and called on Kunav sons and daughters to sheath their swords, put aside grievances, and work through dialogue to support the success of Fr. Alia.
In their separate remarks, the members representing Tiev and Kyan Constituencies of Vandeikya Local Government in the Benue State House of Assembly, Hon. Dr. Matthew Damkor and Hon. Terna Shimawua, commended Governor Alia for appointing Barr. Moses Atagher as his Chief of Staff.
While congratulating the former Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice in Benue State on his elevation, the two young parliamentarians promised to continue collaborating with the Executive Arm of Government and to make laws that align with the development policies and programmes of the Fr. Alia-led administration in Benue State.
In another remark, Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Elders Forum in Vandeikya Local Government, Elder Iorpuu Baaki, extolled Governor Alia for appointing a seasoned politician, Barr. Atagher, to the exalted position of Chief of Staff.
While describing the Chief of Staff as a humble personality who is always working for the good of the people, he pledged unalloyed loyalty and support from the party to enable Governor Alia to succeed in his mandate.
In a closing remark, the Executive Chairman of Vandeikya Local Government Council, Hon. Dennis Guda, re-echoed the need for unity and collaboration among the Kunav people in order to attract development and maintain peace in Kunav land. He promised to extend the workable administrative framework of the Local Government Council to benefit Vandeikya people.
Highlights of the event included dressing the celebrant in traditional attire, exchange of pleasantries among Kunav dignitaries, as well as refreshment.

Iortyer Eric & Nguuma Gbaa, for Kunav Media Forum for Fr. Alia.
