A 41-year-old Nigerian man, Elvis Nosakhare, has been sentenced to six years in prison in the UK for sexually abusing a minor.
According to Thames Valley Police, Nosakhare, who resides in Sheelin Grove, Bletchley, was found guilty earlier this year of five offences, two counts of penetrative sexual activity and three counts of non-penetrative s+xual activity with a girl.
The ab+se occurred in the Thames Valley area after he met the victim’s mother through an online dating platform and gained access to her daughter.
He was sentenced at Aylesbury Crown Court on Tuesday, July 29. In addition to the jail term, Nosakhare was placed on the Sex Offenders Register for life and given a restraining order.
Detective Constable Bryn Smith of the Child abuse Unit commended the victim for her courage: “I hope the conviction and sentence provide her with some sense of justice. Thames Valley Police remains committed to supporting victims and ensuring offenders are held accountable.”
Police encouraged anyone with information about sexual offences to come forward, assuring victims they will be listened to and supported. Reports can be made by calling 101, visiting the police website, or going to a police station.
